Meet Our World-Class Beard Butter

Our beard butter has been consistently reviewed with 5 stars by our customers. So, what is it that makes our beard butter the best beard butter in the UK?

Firstly, what the hell is beard butter and why this beard care option growing massively in popularity?

Beard Butter is a moisturiser, think of it as the successful child of Beard Oil and Beard Balm.
Beard Oil is a great product to help with the day-to-day management of your beard. It softens, it cleans and it makes it a lot easier to take care of your beard. Where Beard Oil falls down, is that it doesn't help you keep your beard in-shape and it doesn't allow for styling.
This is where Beard Balm comes in, Beard Balm contains butters, these butters are not only great for the health of your hair but also they add a bit of hold to your beard. Most balms including (Balm House's) have an additional ingredient, wax. Beeswax is the perfect ingredient to add a good amount of hold as well as some styling capability to your beard.
So where does beard butter come in? Well, let's say you want the combined conditioning properties of a Beard Oil and a Beard Balm but you want them to last you through the day without necessarily adding a strong hold to your beard with wax. This is where you'd use a Beard Butter, our Butters are formulated in such a way that they soak into your beard over a long period and give you continuous nourishment and softening throughout the day whilst still providing enough hold so that you don't have to comb every few hours.

Out the pot this butter is lovely and soft, incredibly smooth and very refined. Definitely screams quality!

What exactly goes into our beard butter?

We spent a very long time working on the formula for our beard butter, some 50+ iterations were made before we arrived at the formula for what is possibly the best beard butter out there today.

Argan Oil
This is an ingredient often overlooked by companies when they start to manufacture beard care products.. The reason for this? It's expensive.
It is extremely beneficial for hair and is commonly used as a conditioner. Vitamin E is a home-run for hair care, and is found in Argan Oil in high quantities. Vitamin E promotes healthy hair growth as it contains antioxidants, which help boost cells and encourage them to produce healthy hair. It can also promote the growth of healthy, strong hair as opposed to thin, brittle hair.

Apricot Kernel Oil
The rich Vitamin E and K content is great for nourishing and strengthening your hair follicles from the roots and also acts as a natural moisturiser. Vitamin K works to thicken your blood cells and tighten your skin (like a natural astringent), which means that more nutrients pass into your hair follicles and ensures a stronger grip on individual hairs.

Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera contains proteolytic enzymes which repair dead skin cells. It also acts as a great conditioner and leaves your hair smooth and shiny. It promotes hair growth, prevents itching, reduces dandruff and conditions your hair.

Shea Butter
Shea Butter helps relieve many problems such as beardruff and itchiness. It can be used whether your skin is dry or oily. On oily skin, it helps reduce excessive oil production by the skin glands. It can moisturise dry skin and reduce flaking due to dryness.

Mango Butter
Packed with fatty acids and other vitamins, Mango Butter is great moisture-rich food for your hair. Its benefits include softening the hair and preventing environmental damage.

Even if I fell out with my beard and it left me, I would still rub this on my face.

It's not all about the ingredients though, how a product performs is only part of it. Our closely guarded manufacturing process for Balm House Beard Butter is the key to its success. How a product feels in the hand and how it applies to the hair is as important as how it performs as a moisturiser. We manufacture our beard butter in such a way that it is smooth, light and a pleasure to apply, without being tacky or greasy.

So How Do I Use Beard Butter?

It depends entirely on what you want it to do. The main difference in the way people use Beard Butter is simply, morning or night.
If you want a product that is long lasting for day time use then apply it in the morning after a shower and you'll be set for the rest of the day. The butter will soak in over the course of the day and provide your beard with hydration and nutrients that will far outlast those of Beard Oil and Beard Balm.
The other option is to use Beard Butter as part of a night time routine, apply it just before bed and allow the butter to get to work while you sleep. You'll wake up in the morning with a soft and manageable beard, ready for you to apply your favourite day time product.

This was my first time using beard butter and I must say it didn't disappoint. Very easy to use just melts into my hands and the smell is absolutely amazing!!!!!
